There are several ways I charge for my services based on the sort of work I undertake and the likely extent of my involvement. Generally I will meet up with prospective clients, talk through the project, then later reflect on things and write back with a detailed proposal. This will cover my understanding of the brief, what I believe is being asked of me and how that is reflected in my fee proposal. I will also endeavour to outline the sequence of works, costs associated with any other persons who may be involved, and any other expenses that may arise and need to be budgeted for. Lastly, I am happy to provide a list of past clients who are willing to provide feedback on their own projects.
